In the Auto Tech class at EHOVE, we learn multiple skills about cars and our career field - from basic oil changes and safety inspections to the more advanced jobs like transmission swaps and Engine rebuilds, in our training. The vehicles that we work on are mainly customer cars. Some are a real challenge, like a car coming in with a squeak noise or a vibration and trying to find the problem. I think those challenges are fun.
We also learn how to flare brake lines which was something I did not know how to do – before I always used pre flared lines. Another thing that is cool, is on Fridays we are able to bring our own vehicles in to the shop to work on. We also work on cars that are donated by different car companys such as Toyota, Chrysler, GM, and Ford.
