In the Teacher Academy program there are different ways that I am getting my training, certifications, and experience. One way that I am getting my training is by doing my field experience every day except for Mondays. On Mondays we go to Firelands College in Huron to have our seminar days and go over what we will do in field experience that week. While we are at our seminar days, we have a portfolio we start working on. This portfolio is what gets us some college credit. If we get an 80 percent on the portfolio then we can take it to colleges and see if we can get some of our first year credits done. We also go into real classrooms and actually teach students which counts as credit too. As a class we also get community service opportunities that we can put on resumes. Also, if you do Early Childhood Education your junior year then you can get certified in child abuse recognition and communicable disease recognition. Overall there is a lot in Teacher Academy that can get us job training, certifications, and real world experience.
