Business Professionals of America has come a long way this year! This career tech student organization operates on a regional, state, and national level. We consist of the students from Visual Media Technology, Interactive Media Technology, Computer Networking Technology, and Global Business Management. Basically, this organization boils down to members that strive to be business professionals. We compete in competitions at the levels I mentioned above and put on a good presentation. If you are stuck between choosing a program at EHOVE, I recommend one of the ones listed above so you get the opportunity to be in Business Professionals of America. You will learn how to gain the skills needed to perform well in any career you choose, whether it be interviewing, speaking, or teamwork. We are able to get out of school for competitions too! State is in Columbus and nationals can be anywhere in the country! Plus the school pays for it!?!? This year nationals is in Orlando, Florida….. enough said.
As president, I am proud of what the organization has been able to accomplish in one shirt year! Every year our organization participates in a fundraiser for the Special Olympics. This year we raised $2,200! Through miscellaneous events, we were also able to raise another $400 for our organization. Some other accomplishments we achieved this year include conducting a Halloween safety lesson to the children in Early Childhood, starting a recycling program, and presenting safety lessons for classes.
As for as competitions, our BPA organization sent 31 students to the state competition in Columbus and 6 to nationals in Orlando, Florida. Other motivated students were also able to compete in the Skills USA competition.
We have had a very productive year and hope to keep growing our success. Thank you to all who have supported and contributed to Business Professionals of America including students, members, advisers, teachers, and the faculty. You have all helped us gain the essential skills necessary to be successful in today’s business world. BPA would love to have you as a member so you can make business connections, develop a career portfolio, have community service, make friends, gain leadership, have more for your resume, and get a great experience.
