Some of the students who will be involved in the mock trial (including Blogger Brandon next to me!)
It is hard to believe we are at the end of the 1st quarter already. There are several things to remember as we continue into 2nd quarter. I strongly recommend that you continue working hard on your grades since 1st quarter grades are averaged with 2nd quarter grades to determine a final grade for the course. Attendance must also be a priority as research shows that attendance does affect grades. I would love to see every student participate in the 95% Club each quarter. Don’t forget about Perfect Attendance awards at the end of the year. You will not be disappointed if you have perfect attendance throughout the year.
We have some very important events coming up soon that will give every student the opportunity to work on college and career readiness. Exploration Days are scheduled for November 27-29. You will have the opportunity to choose several activities each of these days. You can choose college visits that we have coordinated transportation for, job shadowing, work for your current employer, or community service. This is quality time to explore your future.
College and Career Readiness Education Days are offered on specified days each quarter during your lab that provides you the tools necessary to prepare for college and the world of work. Use this time wisely to beef up your portfolio that you will walk away with at the end of your senior year.
A final reminder… Check your email for more information on these topics and more throughout the year. Don’t be left out of the communication link by not using your school email address.
